Mark Sherwood is going to Carson City to make tough choices, not to pay off special interest groups at the expense of state tax payers.

District 21’s one-term assembly member, Ellen Spiegel has proven herself to be woefully naïve at best and recklessly irresponsible at worst. Time and again Ellen voted to raise taxes and/or spend money Nevada doesn’t have.

Ellen Spiegel is one of the most fiscally irresponsible members of the current state assembly. Citizen Outreach scored Ellen the most liberal of ANY member of the Nevada Legislature. Nevada Policy Research Institute only scored one other Nevada assembly member as less tax payer friendly than Ellen Spiegel.

Ellen is unable to defend her record. Perhaps that is why Project Vote Smart said this about Ellen,

“Assembly Member Ellen B. Spiegel repeatedly refused to provide any responses to citizens on the issues through the 2008 Political Courage Test when asked to do so by national leaders of the political parties, prominent members of the media, Project Vote Smart President Richard Kimball, and Project Vote Smart staff.”

We cannot afford to send Ellen back to Carson City.
